Yolanda Duarte has been a bilingual school teacher since 1997, and our bilingual school also has other Spanish-speaking teachers on staff to work with families who primarily speak Spanish at home. We can also begin teaching kids a 2nd language at an early age. (All core material is taught in English). We offer a natural exposure and approach to learning Spanish.

The reason why it is easiest for a child to learn a second language at a young age is because the separation of the right and left hemispheres of the brain has not fully taken place yet. If your child is exposed to a 2nd language prior to age 9, he or she will learn it easily and without an accent. After age 9, it will be much more difficult to learn Spanish or another 2nd language.

ABC Children’s Academy’s Spanish classes are optional, but we make learning the language easy. We teach children through songs, chants, stories, and play activities, providing a natural acquisition of Spanish.
